I didn’t blog yesterday as my head wasn’t in the right space as quite a few personal changes occurred yesterday.
So lets discuss today, which started off the same but in a slightly different way in that my fasted cardio was a nice walk outside in the sun as I was working from home today. I did however miss my abs class which is not good, but one day off from abs is not going to kill me.
I spent most of the day working on spreadsheets whilst sat in the sun, it was so relaxing and the amount of work I got through shocked me – but if anyone from work is reading I do work really hard all the time.
Now I did forget to update you on Test Tuesday. This weeks test assessed how much of a princess you were, the candidates were myself, Phil (who is 1 foot taller than me), Gary (no longer my lunchtime walking partner), Helen (the new peacekeeper between Phil and I), Simon (who is soon to leave us), Jenny (thinks I am funny so she stays on my Christmas card list) and Lisa (who has left the company and I miss her greatly). So despite some sniggering from Phil as he answers the questions and the odd comments between Phil and Gary noting how badly I will score against the question they are answering, the scores slowly started to be revealed. Everyone and I mean everyone apart from me scored under 40%, I scored 90% and proceeded to through a strop demanding that Test Tuesday is abolished. So to calm me down, Phil and I completed a body builder test and it confirmed that I was a body builder. However on Wednesday Phil decides to take things too far and sends out a Biopolar test – Disclaimer: we are not making fun of anyone who may suffer from these conditions, we are merely trying to distract us from the work we are doing and just switch off for a few minutes. The results were in and everyone was apparently depressed and should look further into seeking help. The highest score was achieved by Helen who got 15 marks (I am not sure what it was out of). Then I took the test, now before I reveal my score, this test should have been named ‘Are you on competition prep?’ as it described all the things you experience whilst on prep. My score was in, I got 37 and a strongly worded paragraph urging me to seek medical assessment immediately. Phil nearly weed his pants he found it that funny. I am picking the test next week and all I can say is Phil wont be laughing at the end of it.
My workout tonight was legs and back, it’s probably one of the hardest workouts I have. A quick warm up on the treadmill and I focused on legs first. I managed to complete the hip thrusters just using a bar and not the Smith Machine. I only managed to weight it at 50kg but I still felt like I worked just as hard when using the Smith Machine at 60kg.
Before I moved onto my back exercises I sat on the bike for an hour. Jesus wept, my legs are killing all over. I could just about get off the bloody thing. I am going to be stiff tomorrow, but no pain no gain. I decided to wear my weight lifting gloves tonight and I managed to keep my grip longer and not rip my hands to shreds whilst doing lat pull downs.
I must admit I woke up today feeling defeated but once I got myself to the gym in the evening I was buzzing. I even sang along to my music without a care in the world and I was listening to Britney Spears!
