Day 44 – I nearly ate a flapjack at work

I got up early, didn’t check my phone and still managed to fart arse around in the house instead of getting in my car. I still managed to get 45 minutes of fasted cardio completed on the treadmill and headed off to the abs class which was particularly hard today – always a good thing. I was exceptionally starving today so ate my egg white omelette in the car on the way to way – I literally shoved it in my mouth at the first traffic lights whist singing along to the radio.

Go to work and I stuffed my porridge down me as I was still starving. I had drunk 2 litres of water and two large coffees by 9:30am and I was still starving. So I ate my next meal with another coffee and some more water. By 10:30am I was climbing the walls I was that hungry, I was craving sugar so badly and was so close to running downstairs to the cafe to get some flapjack but I was on a call at my desk so I couldn’t leave straight away. I text Kerin and she gave me a stern talking to via text message and then I looked at the guest stars attending Body Power and shoved another meal down me. The cravings subsided after about half an hour as I slowly started to feel full but I was so close in caving in and eating that flapjack, which I know would have led to more bad food. So thank you Kerin for being a good friend in my hour of need and thank you guest stars at Body Power with your fabulous bodies.

Gary (my lunchtime walking partner) and I went for a walk at lunchtime on our usual route and we were both feeling tired and generally a bit fed up. By the time we got back to work I was literally exhausted and had gone from starving to really bloated because I had eaten so many meals so close together. By the time I finished my final meal just before 4 o’clock I was stuff, bloated and had stomach cramps.

Still feeling very tired I got into my car to head to the stables and nearly fell asleep at the wheel so parked up at the stables, put the seat back, got my coat and formed it into a pillow, put the windows down, shades on and went to sleep for over an hour. I had the best snooze ever, it was nice and cool in the car with a light breeze coming in, nice and quiet with the birds tweeting away in the trees behind me. When I woke up I felt a little more coherent but still exhausted so I decide that I would ride the horse and miss the gym (I will add my chest and tricep workouts to my Friday and Saturday workout). The most important thing I learnt last prep was to listen to your body. I am exhausted today as I am adjusting going back into prep and hitting this hard training plan. So a rest up is what I need and I don’t feel anxious or guilty about it as I know its the the right thing to do for me.

Got home and packed my bags for the next day, did some general tidying up, painted my nails and just relaxed watching a bit of tele. I was still very hungry – I would like to point out that I walked past an uneaten Easter egg at the stables 3 times and although I wanted to lick it, I didn’t. So with my coffee whilst watching tele, I made a protein mug cake by heating a small scoop of protein shake and water in the microwave. Its not on my diet but it stopped me from making a poor choice and I don’t think an extra protein shake for one day is going to destroy my prep.

Hopefully I will get a good nights sleep and feel more energised tomorrow. Thanks again Kerin you were a star and saved me big time.
