Day 41 – A few days missing from my blog but that’s because I went to Body Power

I didn’t blog Friday or Saturday as I was at Body Power at the NEC.

So Friday was a pretty standard day, fasted cardio and abs session first thing. My cravings were pretty high again but one thing I didn’t do was drink enough water so I did cave and ended up eating 1 1/2 biscuits at work. Everyone was shocked for about 2 minutes and then carried on working.

For some reason I lost all track of time on Friday and didn’t end up starting my leg session till 8:30pm. I made bloody good use of that time though and pushed my weights again lifting slightly heavier on my squat with the Olympic bar, which is still low at 60kgs for 4 sets of 12. I feel though that I can push that again on Monday, but I do need to remember that I am working legs 3 times a week so not to go too crazy.

I then spent all night packing and fake tanning (a must for Body Power) and didn’t get to bed till after midnight.

Up at 6am and I had calculated my times all wrong for fitting in a workout as well as getting the car packed, showering and drying my hair which seems to take a million years to dry – I am very tempted to cut it all off (I wont though as I like my princess hair). Anyways, off to pick up my friend Kerin and off we went to Body Power. Got stuck in traffic but managed to get there and avoid the queues to get in.

Now I have been slightly apprehensive about going to Body Power as I expected just perfect bodies to be walking around everywhere but it wasn’t like that at all. You had all levels of fitness and interests covering power lifting, body building, Crossfit and that mega hard looking sport were they dangle off bars and pretend to walk in the air using pure strength and abs of a million warriors.

I would definitely recommend going even just to listen to the different talks, competitions taking place and live cooking. The stands were amazing and the queues weren’t too bad. The goody bags for some of the companies were brilliant and there were samples of pre-workouts and protein bars galore. We met up with my coach Sandi Birkett who looks amazing and still two weeks out from comp. The funniest thing was the looks from people staring at how lean and ripped she is. We had a giggle every time that happened. However she did notice me snaffling on all the protein bar samples and I was warned that she was watching me on a couple of occasions.

We got some amazing gym clothes from Combat Dollies and shopped around some other stands and then like a pair of old women headed back to the hotel to check in and have a snooze as we were headed out for the evening.

We woke up at 8:30pm and didn’t leave the hotel till 10:30pm. We asked the receptionist where was best to go and she bloody sent us to the worst part of Birmingham. We still had a laugh people watching and talking about the day at Body Power. Some people we saw at Body Power I recognised from Instagram and some people I had never seen before but they totally inspired me, a good motivational boost.

We got back to our hotel completely exhausted at 1:30am, straight into pj’s and bed. I find it quite hard to sleep in hotels even though I do have to stay away with work quite often, so I didn’t really get much sleep.

Travelled back on Sunday, did a bit of food shopping ready for food prep on Monday evening and then spent all day drifting in and out of sleep.

Today marks 6 weeks till the final – using my motivational boost from Body Power and catching up on sleep today, lets up the game and get this body looking good.
