Started the day off with fasted cardio on the treadmill for 45 minutes as I had to send my progress pictures to my coach and go and have my glutes and hammies pummelled back to a pain free state. Mags at Intershape (which is the gym I train at), worked wonders on my right glute, hamstring and back. I have never been pulled and pushed into so many positions in all my life, and as Mags pointed out its clearly the most action my ass checks had have in a while due to me being a singleton extraordinaire. The pain during this session was unbelievable but it just goes to show how tight muscles can get when you are training a million hours a day to drop body fat. I felt brilliant after my session with Mags and the stiffness had gone. The end result of the session, no injury its just general wear and tear during to being worked so much leading up to comp. I am booked in again in a weeks time just to stay on top of things.
From that point on I don’t know whether it was because I was so relaxed or just generally tired, I felt really lethargic all morning, in fact all day. I finished work at lunchtime and decided to sleep after my third meal as I felt so tired, 2 hours later and I am awake but still feeling lethargic.
My usual visit to the horse is completed and I decide that I will swap my days around and take today as my rest day as I am still so tired. I decide to go back to the gym to complete another cardio session. But 20 minutes in I decide to cut it short to half an hour and actually have a proper rest day. My legs felt solid and exhausted when I got on the treadmill and the advice coming from the vlog snapped me out of this ‘got to do as much as I can every single day even if I can’t stay awake’ mentality. The vlog was very interesting looking at reasons why you are not losing body fat and the topic around exercising too much and not getting adequate rest was when I decided to pack it in and head to the sauna for a well earned sleep.
Back home and into bed with a decaf coffee and some sparkling water as I was starving. I am not normally hungry after a full carbs day so I am not sure what is going on today. Early night with the help of some natural sleeping tablets and back on it tomorrow. I am quite excited about my workouts tomorrow as I am going to do the circuits class at my gym which I haven’t done in ages as I am getting bored again with the cardio.
Positive note to end the blog on, my coach thinks I have come in leaner again from the pictures I sent her. We are going to discuss the plan of action for next week on Saturday evening – I am looking forward to see what she suggests but am pleased she thinks I have made progress.
