Today’s blog is broughtt to you from my bath from reasons that will become clear towards the end of the blog.
So day 3 of 139 and hold on to your hats, I have not been hungry!! This is as much of a shock to me as it is to you, the general public reading these random blogs. However I will not complain as this is a good thing.
So today has been a pretty good day, but don’t be fooled it didn’t remain this way and soon spiralled out of control. My morning started off well with me buying myself some Christmas presents (which I actually need) and then received an email about my Great Nans’ grave (who we used to call Nutty Nan as she was mental) which means now I will be able to visit her resting place on Christmas Day – this really cheered me up as I miss her a lot. She was a fan of Maggie Thatcher and when she died I bought a Maggie Thatcher nut cracker for her grave. Basically you shoved the nuts up her skirt, squeeze her legs together and the nut was cracked! So I need to find something just as spectacular to take on Christmas Day.
The rest of the day continued as normal apart from the horse escaping again and running to freedom like Forest Gump. So after a couple of brews in the brew room at the stables with Claire (my new brew buddy), off I went to the gym to train legs with Jamie (who is very sorry for damaging my leg). So upon arrival Jamie informs me that today’s session is going to be hard. We start off with the usual on the leg extension machine and the finisher makes your legs go all wobbly. This makes walking down the stairs to the Hack Squat difficult but everyone gets a good laugh out of it. And oh how we laughed and laughed and even filmed the event, but little did we know about what was going to happen next otherwise we would have not laughed we would have left never to return. Now normally we start off with no weight on the Hack Squat as a warm up, this evening this normal activity was completed successfully. We NORMALLY then proceed to increase the weight to 20kg (10kg either side), not tonight. Jamie (who is very sorry for damaging my leg) decided to put 15kg either side, that’s a grand total of 30kg. I informed Jamie (who is very sorry for damaging my leg) that this weight was too heavy for me but he insisted and told me to get on with it. I don’t normally do what I am told but I think my competitive nature kicked in and I just thought ‘fuck it’ why not. So first set in and although I thought my internal organs may be leaving my body via the back passage, I got through the set. On the second set, at rep 4 something snapped above m knee and I was in agony. I got off the machine and could just about stand. We took the weight off and I tried again. Shooting pains from the top of my knee up my quad. I started to panic and so did Jamie (who is very sorry for damaging my leg) and so I hobbled without any assistance up the stairs and to find the nearest gym working person. An hour later with two ice packs on my knee and quad, a completed accident form and tears, I am escorted to my car to prevent me from doing a back workout as my leg is buggered. I am not going to panic, all will be fine in the morning……..
So today a mixed bag of highs and lows but to end on a positive note we have an update from our Bikini designer to the stars Karen (who wants me to steal penguin ornaments) on this week’s creation;
The bikini bottoms will have a ‘brush’ effect in the lady garden section in that when the sequins lie one way you will only see colour, but brush them over (like a combover) and a picture of Arnie appears. I will also be wearing a cape which will be thrown into the crowd after the papier-mâché head of Geoff Capes.
Please pray for my injured leg.
