So its been around a week since I last blogged about my life as an aspiring body builder and quite a lot has happened since then.
Let’s get the boring stuff over and done with first. I seem to be more in control of my treat meals now and these are just at a meal time and not spanning the entire weekend, which was happening not long ago. So I am quite pleased with that. Now don’t get me wrong this does not mean that I simply look at a burger for my cheat meal, I will eat and eat quite a bit but not have a whole cheat day or weekend. My training is mega at the moment and I am loving it. It certainly helps training with others as they will inspire and push you and simply motivate you to move yourself and get done what you need to. I am quite self conscious though about how big I look at the moment, I feel like I look really bulky almost like a rhino on steroids, which for a woman is not always a good look. I suppose it doesn’t help that my shoulders have grown and seem to generate a lot of comments. The best one was yesterday when a guy asked me if I was taking steroids, to which I replied no I just build muscle quite easily and that I was hoping that I shouldn’t have been born a man. This was obviously a joke but I think he took it seriously as he then went on to explain how woman can have testicles instead of ovaries. I felt great after that conversation.
I have just over 3 weeks until my operation so want to get my weight down a little bit more so that I can relax whilst I am recovering and not worry about putting a bit on. I think I should be out of action for around 3 weeks and then should be able to hit full training if not definitely legs and cardio with some arm workouts but not all of them.
Whilst the usual training is occurring I have also been entertaining myself with other sports. At the weekend I went to watch my friends compete in a Strong Man competion (they competed in the Strong Women section as they are female). It was impressive to watch some of the weights people were lifting and the different shapes and sizes of the competitors. The most appealing part was the amount of food they all got through. On comp day for me its rice cakes with jam and chicken, not bacon butties, cereal bars, chocolate, crisps and whatever else you can get your hands on. It was a very supportive atmosphere and people just chatted to each other in between competing, it was good to watch but a bit difficult at the same time as I had all my food prepped and was scoffing chicken, fish and green beans whilst being surrounded by bacon butties. I have never seen so many beards in all my life at the Strong Man comp, I was in beard heaven.
A new sport which I attempted was Zumba. Now when you think of Zumba you picture yourself as this sexy señorita strutting your stuff around a studio and basically looking like the most sexiest woman alive shaking your ass to some funky music. That did not happen to me this evening. I looked like a muscley rhino bounding around shaking my massive behind, giggling and shouting I cant do that with my arms to my friend. I got a stitch after 10 minutes and thought I was going to die after 20 minutes. At no point during this class did I look sexy or like I even knew what I was doing. I looked like a mad woman who had escaped from the looney bin but had something stuck to her and was trying to shake it off her entire body. Obviously I wil be going next week and I will think beforehand that I will look amazing and then be totally grossed out by what I see in the mirror, but I don’t care I had a good laugh.
On to Test Tuesday which is something we do at work and last weeks test (as we forgot this week because we are all useless) was ‘what type of dog are you’. I honestly thought I would come out as a poodle or something lovely and high maintenance. No, it turns out I am a pit bull. Misunderstood and good when it comes to violence. The tests we have done so far have determined that I am a psychotic, bipolar, pit bull princess. I wonder why I am single.
Finally, Facebook ‘Friend’ message of the week;
