Day 57 – Breakfast celebration at work doesn’t turn out well

So as I didn’t get home till late due to family commitments, I woke up a bit late and still had to pack my gym bag. I did get to the gym and complete a good 40 minutes on the treadmill, I must note that I have been missing the stairway to heaven and did want to go back on that but unfortunately it was occupied by someone else. Before I started my cardio session I surprised my friend Kerin (or Kevin as Avril now calls her) with a thank you present for all her support and making me laugh when my spirits were low during my last prep. She too is on a massive health and fitness drive and is doing extremely well so I constructed a kebab made out of protein brownies and protein truffles from The Protein Works – it wont ruin her diet and its a little treat with hardly any badness. Sent off my latest pictures to my coach ready for her to set up my new diet (I see her and train with her on Monday).

Off to work and it was arranged that we would have a breakfast at the farm shop to celebrate me competing at Mr Pennine. I decided to have haggis (which is my favourite food ever) with two eggs and two pieces of toast. It was lovely and it was especially nice that we could all relax together and catch up before having to deal with the hustle and bustle of work. Plus Friday’s are dress down days, so people tend to be more relaxed and it is the weekend too.

I get back to work after buying some all purpose cleaner as I have moved desks at work and have been tipped off that the desks were filthy. Oh my lord, something that I had eaten did not agree with me at all and my stomach swelled up, the pains that started were unbearable. Some peppermint tea, IBS relief tablets and a lot of groaning at my desk (which Phil who is 1 foot taller than me found hilarious) and the pain still doesn’t subside and lasts up until lunchtime. I am starting to think that I can no longer eat bread which is fine as I only have it when I have finished prep (for the few days I have off).

The pain and discomfort lasts for the rest of the day so I decide not to rush at the stables and take my time and go home to take some charcoal tablets to help ease the pain. Whilst at the stables I start planning my time for the weekend and have decided to sign up with a second gym which is 24 hours. This will allow me to train fasted at my normal time at 6:00am and give me more freedom time wise during the weekends which means I can ride my horse and spend more time with him – I kind of had to rush my stable duties and didn’t ride for the last 6 weeks in last prep as I didn’t have time or the energy. This time using the 24 hour gym means I can be smarter with my time at the weekends. Plus riding the horse normall de-stresses me so it will help during this next prep and its a good exercise for keeping the bum pert.

My probiotics have turned up so I start the course tomorrow. I have also ordered a new gym vest and gym bag from Just Strong Clothing – I can’t wait for them to arrive.

Here is a cute picture of my not so little horse to end my blog with.
