8 weeks and counting

So I am 8 weeks out from my first Body Building competition. I have been in prep since December 26th with a couple of treat meals allowed. That all stopped around 4 weeks ago.

I should really start at the beginning and tell you why I decided to try Body Building. Last June I won a place on a body transformation course for 12 weeks at my local gym. My food intake was average and I just freestyled at the gym. I was slightly overweight but not too bad fitness wise. During my 12 weeks one of the trainers asked if I fancied trying Body Building, naively and ignorantly I said yes. There is a competition local to me in April so I thought I would just pop along and give it a go. I continued training after the 12 weeks and took up with a Body Building coach in October. That’s when reality hit. The dedication, sacrifice, mental and physical input is phenomenal. But I became hooked and have never looked back.

As a total new comer to Body Buiding I thought I would blog about my days in the crucial 8 weeks out purely as a form of therapy for myself. If someone picks up some learnings or just enjoys a good laugh at my daily mishaps, then everyone is a winner.

So day 56 (we are counting down), fasted cardio on the stairway to heaven aka the stair master. The looks of disgust from other gym goers due to the amount of sweat that pours off me is growing, but right now I don’t care as my coach keeps on reminding me I have a fat ass. I have swapped my days around so today is a weight free day but I am back at the gym later that day for my second cardio session and abs. Quietly listening to vlogs of fitness people I follow my coach spots me and turns up the speed on the treadmill. Can you breathe he asks, I reply no. Good girl is his response. My coach is a man of few words and those words are normally not positive. So I take it as a good thing and struggle away for 45 minutes.

Started having issues with bloating during my last meals. I am thinking it’s the broccoli and possibly spinach so have contacted my other coach who looks after my nutrition. Awaiting an update.

Getting an early night as I am taking my best friend and her daughter to a cheerleading dance competition. I have been warned not to try and join in 😁
