Day 53 – Shuffled my way around today with very stiff legs

Did not sleep well at all last night. I was tired whilst getting ready for bed and writing my blog, then lights out and I was wired thinking of all the random things one could possibly think of whilst at the same time wondering what time it is and how much sleep am I actually going to get. When I woke I felt like crap and must have had a restless night as I looked like I had been dragged through a bush backwards about a million times. But I didn’t care what I looked like (one of the many reasons why I am single) and off I trotted to the gym to scare the sweet bejesus out of the other gym goers with my mad hair and death like face. So fasted cardio was brought to you today by the power of the treaders and by the number 45 for the minutes performed walking on an incline. I then shuffled off to the abs class which unfortunately for me was instructed by an attractive guy which when I smiled and said hello, he just looked scared and moved away from me. It was a good abs class and I could really feel them engaging to the point were I nearly gave up but reminded myself of how much I want to improve for the final and kept those shaking tired legs up in the air.

I spent most of the day at work pretty hungry as I am back on my carb cycling diet which is quite a dramatic change from the clean eating involving cakes diet I have been on for my few days off after competing. I also used most of my energy today reprimanding Phil (who is 1 foot taller than me) due to his bad attitude at work. Twice he raised his voice at me and I lost count the amount of times he used a patronising tone when talking to me – I don’t know what is going on with him but I told him to have an attitude adjustment otherwise I would kill him.

Went on the usual way with Gary (my lunchtime walking partner) but this time we were joined by Phil who behaved for most of the route but I did have to threaten him with pushing him in front of a car if he carried on asking if he should shorten his stride because I am so small.

As the day progressed my legs got stiffer from training them with Sandi yesterday. We onl did four exercises but I must have worked them properly as my hamstrings felt like they were going to fall off and my glutes were in agony. But if it means I looked better on stage for the final then so be it.

The evening didn’t go as planned and that’s purel because my best friend Jono needed my support. Jono has been there for me and tonight I needed to be there as a friend and support him. So tomorrow I will double up on my training which is fine as today was a shoulder and tricep day and tomorrow is a leg and back day.

Before I end the blog I thought I would share with you the supplements that I take on a daily basis (and as Phil points out everyday I should rattle with the amount I take);

Vitamin C and Energy effervescent, primrose oil, vitamin D, Magnesium, Zinc, omega 3,6 & 9 (x3), Sports Multi Vitamin, Flora bacteria, Charcoal and Iron

The above combination seems to keep me going, I noticed a huge difference when I started taking Iron as I didn’t seem to be as tired. The Flora bacteria has really helped keep my digestive system on track even though it is early days, the charcoal helps if you feel a bit dodgy but I am taking it at the moment after my last meals to help me going back on my diet after a few days off.

Looking forward to smashing the weights tomorrow and working those abs with probably and even worse hairstyle and an extreme look like I have just been dug up.
